As we get closer to the new year and move towards resolutions that will hopefully allow us to move forward with our hopes, dreams, and daily sense of joy, we feel empowered to accomplish the things that we set out to do in both our personal and our personal life.

Take some time today to be grateful for what you have accomplished this year and to visualize the course that you desire to set for the upcoming year.

Establish your priorities

It is important that you understand what it is that you value most in life (family, friends, your career, leaving a legacy, volunteering, experiencing life to the fullest, being healthy, generating wealth, obtaining knowledge, connecting to people or places…

Think of the top 5 things that you value most and prioritize them to help you remain focused on what is most important to you this year.

Define your ultimate vision of life

We often have this amazing, often seemingly impossible, dream that we deeply desire to accomplish, but we are intimidated by it, so we procrastinate or have all together set it aside. It may be something we desire to improve about ourselves, our business, or the state of the world… regardless of what it may be… write a list of these incredible dreams you have imagined for your life and ponder a few ways that you could accomplish or at least begin working towards them.

When you begin with the end in mind, you can create an ultimate vision to which you may focus your efforts.

Put your goals on paper

Just by taking the time to sit down, ponder, and write down your goals you will be one step ahead of most people. Create a visible way to have that goal in a place where you can be constantly reminded of it, like the refrigerator or your desk. By keeping these goals consistently on your mind, you will be able to create small ways to work towards them every day.

Break them down into actions

Having a bunch of large goals can be overwhelming, so take time to break down your goals into manageable steps you can take to complete them. List what your task is and designate a completion date to each step. Set yourself up for success by making sure that you are creating goals and deadlines you can accomplish.

Get moving

You must start doing something today! Tomorrow, becomes, and will continue to be tomorrow. Start with small manageable steps that you can take each day that will move you closer towards your goals.

Create an action plan

There are several manageable tasks that you can do daily. To make sure you stay on track, you can adopt the following habits:

  • Read your goals and tasks list everyday
  • Schedule time to work on your daily tasks
  • Create ways that allow you to track your progress
  • Mastermind your ideas and your progress with like-minded individuals to help you gain more clarity and to hold you accountable to completing your goals
  • If necessary, get other individuals involved to assist you

Take daily action

It is important to not underestimate the impacts small steps taken daily can have on the long term. In the shorth term, we tend to overestimate what can be accomplish and in the long-term we underestimate what can be accomplished.

Track your progress

Take time to check your at least once each month. Notice how things are going, determine, and implement any adjustments that need to be made to continue towards your goal.

Currently there is a lot of noise and a lot of different things competing for our attention. It has become very easy to become distracted. Remind yourself of what you’re doing and why it is important to you, and don’t be afraid to change course when you need to alter the plan. And remember that sometimes we must change direction to make sure we are still on course to arrive at our goal.

Celebrate your successes

As you accomplish goals, remember to allow your brain a moment to celebrate your wins as you move towards success. These acknowledgments serve to inspire you continue working towards your goal or to set a new goal.

You could reward yourself by:

  • Throwing your hands up in clebration
  • Dancing like no one is watching
  • Jumping up and down in excitement
  • Talking about what you accomplished with friends or loved ones
  • Gifting yourself a nice meal, a shirt, sky diving…
  • Be proud of yourself and pat yourself in the back to congratulate yourself of your accomplishment

Show up your best self

Every day strive to become the highest version you can imagine of yourself. Let this year ignite your best, most aligned, and most authentic version of who you can be. Allow courage to triumph over fear and allow yourself to think big about your what you desire in your personal and professional life, so you can finally achieve your deepest desires. Failure does not exist when you take a leap of faith, plan determine your goals, and take action (no matter how small) every day towards making your most fulfilled life a manifested life experience.
