THE NEW YEAR BRINGS NEW OPPORTUNITIES TO BE BETTER AND MORE RESILIENT.

The new year is fast approaching, and resolutions and goals will be established or re-evaluated for the year to come. When looking to elevate your life or business in the new year you could consider hiring a coach.

As Sir John Whitmore, a leading figure in the field, defined it, skilled coaching involves “unlocking people’s potential to maximize their own performance.” Coaching at its best  combines both parts of the process—imparting knowledge and helping others discover it themselves—and they can artfully do both in different situations.

Coaching is a business and personal tool that can be used when we are attempting to take something about our lives to the next level. Whether it’s your mindset, your business or your public speaking skills, the question is not whether you should hire a coach or not, but how can you make sure you hire the right person.

As a solopreneur, there were a lot of times when I became so frustrated that I wanted to throw in the towel. I would work so hard and would feel like I was just going around in circles without anything really gaining traction and unsure what to do to move forward.

As I coach, I know how much I have helped people and allowed them the space, skills and courage needed to sometimes completely change how they are manifesting their lives. So of course, it was a no brainer when I felt stuck that I should seek personal counsel from a professional coach with experience to become my mentor.

Having a mentor was one of the best things that could have happened to allow me to create success as I found myself better defining and growing my business.

When you begin searching for the right coach, it is crucial that you have a clear perspective of what qualities you are looking for so that you can find someone who is a good fit for you or your business.

Here are some things to keep in mind:

➡️ What exactly are the issues you are attempting to address and what do you desire to gain from the coaching relationship?

➡️ What are their values and are they aligned with your values or the values of your business?

➡️ Have they created success, and do they have specific knowledge regarding your situation or the industry your business operates in?

➡️ Is there evidence of the effectiveness of their methods and do they have testimonials or references you can access?

➡️ What are they offering you that will allow you or your business to up-level in the way that you desire?

Although these are just a few factors to consider, they can get you thinking about how to make sure that you maximize your investment and receive the outcome that you desire for yourself or your company.
