As humans, we have the innate ability to tap into energies inside of ourselves that can help us improve our state of being. We have the ability to raise our resistance, improve our ability to fight disease and create better health within ourselves by choosing to change any aspect of our lifestyle that is hindering us from achieving optimal health.
The ability you have to make your mind work for you and not against you starts with awareness. As you learn to notice your emotional responses to the situations that you are faced with in your life, you can learn to question your emotional responses before reacting to what comes up.
Ancient forms of medicine that have been practiced for thousands of years, such as yoga and meditation, have focused on teaching us how to use and direct our thoughts, emotions and mindset to help us mitigate disease and manifest increased vitality. In order to create a healthier state in mind, we must first find tools that will allow us the ability to manage our thoughts out of the hamster wheel that we are accustomed to and into a mind state in which we foster thoughts that serve us.
“Your state of mind creates your reality. A positive state of mind not only benefits you, but it also uplifts everyone who you come in contact with, which can literally impact the entire world.” – Johanna Godinez
Your Thought Patterns
The first step to gaining awareness is to question why an emotional response has come up to begin with. As you ponder that, you can reflect on whether or not it serves you to have those emotions involved in the situation; the answer is almost always no. For example, if someone cuts you off and that instigates a state of anger as a response you can ask yourself:
- Does it serve you to get angry?
- Will getting angry change, improve or resolve the situation?
- Is the reaction truly warranted?
Through our awareness of the patterns and emotions that create our stresses and affect our lives, we can notice our responses to situations and tendency we have to react certain ways. By observing ourselves at a deeper level we notice what responses serve us and which ones further aggravate our situations. When we improve the awareness of the way we are relating and associating with ourselves and the world around us, we can discover ways to anticipate, manage and/or decrease our stress.
We believe that growth comes into your life when you embark on a journey towards upgrading, adapting and/or changing the conditions that you notice are no longer serving or aligned with your life.
Creating Harmony Within Yourself
As you begin to learn to focus your awareness and thoughts, you can begin to create a state of harmony within your mind. Through a harmonious mind you can direct your thoughts to help and serve your growth and purpose, instead of of fear, doubt or a lower your vibration. It is important to be clear on what it is that you want to create in your life, so that you have an anchor for your thoughts to come back to when you find yourself going down an unwanted mental path.
“Always aim at complete harmony of thought, word, and deed. Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well.” Mahatma Gandhi.
Stepping out of your conditioned thoughts patterns, shifting your programmed responses and shifting the habits you have created will take time. As you begin to consciously restructure your trains of thoughts and become more aware of the repetitive unwanted patterns, responses and mental scenarios, you can begin to consciously and purposefully refocus them into productive and positive thoughts which may change outlook of your entire life.
